Toadally Froggy

We went to the Utah Museum of Natural History yesterday, to see their Toadally Froggy exhibit-- so much fun! The first Monday of every month is free, which made it even better. We got to see so many different kinds of frogs and toads... and did you know that all toads are frogs, but not all frogs are toads? Crazy. And they grow a ring around their bones every year, just like trees. We learned all sorts of new things, and the girls were so great. Riley had a blast running around and playing. Some of the other exhibits have interactive play, like the "dinosaur bone hunt", where you could pretend to be an anthropologist and dig for bones. Or a huge watery sand pit, where you could pretend to be... a sand digger. I'm not actually sure what that was supposed to teach you-- Eric and I needed a break right about then, so we sat and watched. The only bummer is that my camera ran out of batteries after I had taken only one picture. I hadn't even thought about recharging them-- I guess I'm taking more pictures than usual. So we couldn't record the day for posterity, but we had a great time anyway. We met up with my sister, Liz, when we were finished, as she was getting off work, and got a pizza from 'The Pie' (which I highly recommend) and ate it at a nice little park. Riley made a friend there named Gabi, but her mom called her Gabs. So Riley got mixed up and called her Scabs. And as they left, and Riley called out, "Goodbye, Scabs!", we heard Gabi call back, "Goodbye, Curly!". Four year olds are so adorable.

The Froggy exhibit only goes until September 14th, so you have one more chance to catch a free day. Everyone should go, whether you have kids or not. It was a blast!
